The dreaded moment when the most laid back girl turns into a raving lunatic at the mention of her wedding.
The urban dictionary describes this as: Bridezilla - formed from blending the words brid and Godzilla together. Used to describe a woman whose behavior becomes outrageously bad in the course of planning her wedding. This woman is so obsessed by her wedding plans that she seems possessed and has merged from a calm, loving girl into a hybrid events/catering/ambiance driven monster who will stop at nothing to create 'her perfect day'.
Here are a few signs that you are turning into a Bridezilla (or are already one):
- You think that everyone who doesn't listen to you talk about your wedding all the time is selfish/doesn't care/not interested
- You demand that what you want is what you want and there will be absolutely no exceptions to the rule
- The florist cannot find the exact shade of hot pink you want and has done your bouquet in a slightly different shade, so you throw all your toys out the cot and threaten to shut her down
- Before you started planning your wedding, you got along with everyone, now no one wants to be near you and always makes excuses when you want to see them
- Conversations with your mother have turned into shouting matches and whatever she suggests is wrong
- You fired your bridesmaid because she put on weight and you don't want your pictures ruined
- You fired your bridesmaid because she cut her hair short and all your bridesmaids are supposed to have long hair
- You send a gift card to your sister in law that reads: Dear Jane, I bought this so you could have your upper lip waxed....
- Your bridesmaids avoid your calls and emails
- You don't have time for anyone or anything unless it is related to your wedding
- The wedding planner is avoiding your calls
- The wedding planner quit
- Your wedding registry is worth more than most houses in Millionaires Row
- Your hubby to be is threatening divorce before marriage
- Your local bridal store starts sending you discount coupons and greets you by name
